Ever since I left you at the station, I
Positively, honey, have been running dry
Still there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do–
Have you consolation for my lonely blues?
Ever since I left you at the station, honey, I
Dream all about it, dream all about it
Until serpents crawl in my bed
I remember humming with you on the radio
How the summer, honey, faded all my clothes
Still there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do, for you–
Have you consolation for my lonely blues?
Ever since I left you at the station, honey, I
Dream all about it,
I read all about it
I’ll learn to live without it

Roving Love
04:17
|
|
||
I’m blowing on the east side
I’m hanging by the wind, oh
I cannot burst my own light in a crowd
Cannot quite ‘cause I’ve a Roving Love
Sometimes I sound of Eastern ruin
Or youthful mediation
“Distant lover in the backroom, do you hear me?”
“With every crying breath, I hear you.”
You’ve nearly frozen next to me, right next to me
Like a vacant Greek ruin
“Antique lover on your back now, do you feel that?”
“With every dying breath I feel that.”
A glowing light cascades across me in the darkness
And I must caress you, Roving Love!
If anyone is used to it, I’m used to it
With energy and pages stacked below
A glowing light cascades across me in the darkness
I must caress you, Roving Love!
And fame is like a fruit tree, anyway
And all I want are poplars for my boys
To pine for glowing light cascading in some back door
I must caress you, Roving Love!
(And another love is helping me down)
(And a part of love is getting used to that now)
(Have no fear)

Images

All impressions I’ve had
Have joined in patchworks–
Impossible to match
I’d never straighten one line
All of the images made out of them
Are mine
Radiance enters my room
I nearly drown in a wave lasting all the night
And I just take off my pants and come back
In all of my beating and supplication
I wade
Radiance enters my room
I never thought about light until dawn
All of the sudden I’m ears and eyes
And all of the people I’ve been before this
Are gone
All of the people I’ve had before you
Are gone, too
All of the images made out of them
Are buried alive in your whiteness

He tears me past city walls
Tell me the words, I need them all
For I’ve come a long, long way now
Here to the walls of a citadel
(And I am a walled up citadel)
There is a clock ticking hand in hand
I am the one with the ring tan
I have a master way out–
I’m gonna burn my candle down
Moving from ends toward each other, and
Here is the where I come from
Here is the where I go to, I know
Deep in the jungle towers
The howls forming all around
I have a fire I’ve been playing in
We are an ash in air again
He loves a lost American
I have a master way out–
I take a match to my candle, now
Here is the air we’ve been breathing in
Here is the what I am leaving in
There is no why I am leaving him
“When will I ever see you again?”

Daphne

When I was young I wore Daphne in my hair
When I was young I wore Daphne in my hair
I had a long life and fine love to watch me back there
When I was hung I put Daphne on my eyes
When I was hung I used Daphne as disguise
I had a blue-light superior to watch me all night
(All of the misinterpretations of ending my life)
Now that I’ve failed I feel deftly disengaged
Now that I’ve failed I have talked a lot and raged
I need the blue-light and downers to keep me sedate
(All of the misinterpretations of feeling my age)
Until the light comes, I’ll be fine
And wait for me, wait for me

Nova

I am cosy on the stars that don’t shine
But what about my Nova?
If it’s me you want to pour your heart into
I’m too pistol to move over, get over
Ms. Sosostris puts her cards before my eyes
(How can anyone refuse them?)
She is gathering in a most peculiar line
All the petals I am losing
I am cosy on the stars that don’t shine
But what about my Nova?
If it’s me you want to pour your hear into
I’m too crystal to turn over

Perfume

(Shine down on me) All the lights come onto me
(Shine down on me) I came out for all of the
Petty tunes and mirages, felt like such a good time
Was all mine for a little while
And nobody quite impressed me just like it
O! the life helps me, I’m sure it does
When everyone saw me anxious for the end
Their flowered faces bent to me anyway
Your intent to wedge yourself away
My intent to snuff a dying flame
The boys are just so dangerous now
In there intent to light me, but they don’t know how!
But O! I’ve been lit, lit in the night
Watched in the night
And all of the light dies anyway my friend
And never sounds again does the tune
(Shine down on me)
There’s a barefoot boy in the garden
I sent barefoot boy all my perfume smoke and mirrors
It seemed just like the right thing
‘Twas all mine ‘til the little sting
And nobody’s death impressed me just like his
Although life helped him, I know it did
Everyone saw me anxious for the end
Their flowered faces bent to me anyway
Your intent to wedge yourself away
My intent to snuff a dying flame
The poet hears the shade of Mallarme
The poet hears the sand hiss in the rain
The boys are just so dangerous now
With their intent to make love to me
But they don’t know how
But O! I’ve been loved
Loved in the night
And I’ve left in the night
And all of the light dies anyway my friend
And never sounds again does the tune

South Ocean

I have watched the clouds roll over
The star studded skies of the east, oh
It’s Saturday night on the moon tinted
Faces at Istmo
I see a darkness coming over
I see it from my open window
I think I’d dreamed politely
Knowing I’d spiral anyway
No courage, at all
Until finally I’m found
I turn my face towards the movement of
Crowds turning stones on the city bay
Unreal upon the steaming pavement,
Parading from calle to calle
And should I watch the night turn morning?
I put my keys down and my watch untied
For the last time
“Don’t do me like that,” he says
All the while it’s coming down–
See how it comes!
Light comes down–I’ve run enough to know that
Finally I’m found
Radiant light as bad on others all around
It sparks a gentler feeling
Radiant in new ways
As if somebody had bathed me
As if the waters had bathed me
The rumble’s moving, it echoes west on the hillside
Stay with me all night
And give a light
Until finally I’m found, and outside the sun is rising
Stars! they lose their glow, they make a mockery of me
Right as there is morning light
There is a dome upon a hill, a tower being lit
Seven tiers–there it is.

Light Divine
04:22
|
|
||
Don’t go, I’m about to give to you
Something very right–
All of my love, and whatever I’ve devised
You know that I’m no millionaire
I have nothing but my heart and my mind
You look of Daphne, I know that we’re divine
(All of my love)
Whenever I was younger
I could out with within an hour
Whatever happened?
Why has my light gone sour?
We’re lonely and we’re vexed by it
And not mysteriously
God knows we can be!
We’ve given light divine
Wait–I’m about to give to you
Something very new
Whatever happens, whatever, I’ll come through
For you and me
With all of my love
(The big round boat has come to take me away
And the bright red luggage has faded to gray
Everywhere I go, everything I say
Moves me from that love
Moves me from that place)
